Terms
The short version: walk safely.

Paper Trail is a free, open-source project. By using this site you agree to these terms. If you don’t, please don’t use it.
Your walk is your responsibility
Trails are made automatically from public map data and written by an AI model. Places may have moved, closed or never been where the map says; a route may cross a busy road, private land or somewhere that isn’t safe at that time of day. Always use your own judgement: follow local laws and signs, watch for traffic, stay aware of where you are, and turn back whenever something feels wrong. Children should walk with an adult. Let someone know where you’re going, especially if you leave your phone at home.
AI-written content
The words on your zine and in your Field Report are generated by Gemma. They can be wrong, odd or incomplete. Nothing Paper Trail writes is advice of any kind.
Fair use of the service
Please use Paper Trail through its pages. Don’t script it, flood it with requests or try to use its AI access for anything else. The service applies rate limits and a daily budget, and may block traffic that looks automated.
